Instead of constructing an addition, this 1950's split level gets a modern interior renovation to maximize and better utilize the existing space.
Although the actual square footage of the kitchen remained the same, the removal of walls and reconfiguration of cabinetry succeeded in creating greater functional space and improving the overall flow of the first floor. Two small rooms of the lower level were opened up create a multipurpose space that is both home office and family room. Other design strategies included increased natural light, creating a better connection to the outdoors and use of natural and sustainable materials. |
